Intermittent rains continue to lash Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Jun 14 (UNI) The intermittent light to moderate rains continued to lash the district for the eigth consective day today.

The south-west monsoon began last Saturday. Effectively, the water level of various dams and the Panchaganga river in the disrtict has increased, District Collector's office informed here today.

Western parts, including hilly tehsils like Gaganbavada, Chandgad and Radhanagari, have received moderate to heavy rainfall, source said.

The highest rainfall of 42 mm was recorded in Gaganbavada tehsil during last 24 hrs, sources said. The district has recorded 2,801.6 mm rainfall till this date, from June one.

Kharif crop sowing process is in full swing, owing to the timely rains, in the district.
