Mumbai, Jun 14: Indian aviation companies may opt for imported Air Traffic Fuel (ATF) with the sales tax on it reaching at 12.5 per cent. Talking to reporters at the launch of Mumbai-Shanghai-Sanfrancisco flight, Jet Executive Director S K Datta said, ''We are appealing to all the oil companies to reduce the sales tax otherwise we may consider to import.'' Apart from this, the other options are to reduce the routes and cut the capacity and rationalisation of the routes, he added.

Meanwhile, a meeting of Federation of Indian Airlines was held last night attended by Goair Chairman Jeh Wadia, Kingfisher CEO Vijay Mallya, Spicejet Siddhant Sharma and others who also hinted the similar option to tackle the sales tax issue on ATF.
