Heavy rains herald onset of monsoon
Patna, Jun 14 (UNI) Torrential rainfall today lashed several parts of North Bihar heralding the onset of monsoon in the state.
The heavy downpour that began last night continued today throwing life out of gear in the state capital and its neighbouring areas as roads and lanes were flooded.
The water of choked drains also entered the houses of the low-lying areas in the city.
Met officials here said the city and its adjoining areas recorded 44.4 mm rainfall which brought down the mercury level quite considerably.
The officials said the maximum temperature was recorded at 26.2 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 22 degrees Celsius.
The Met department has forecast rain and thunder showers at many places in the region during the next 24 hours.
