FM lying on MSP for paddy: Raman
Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Jun 14 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Chief minister Raman Singh has accused Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram of lying on Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy.
''The FM is lying that I didn't recommende the Centre for raising the MSP for paddy to Rs 1,000 per quintal,'' Dr Singh said, addressing a press conference in Ratanpur near Bilaspur, on the second day of the fourth phase of Chhattisgarh Vikas Yatra.
The Chief minister said he himself wrote a letter to the Prime Minister and Agriculture Minister to ensure that the MSP for paddy was raised to Rs 1,000. The BJP national executive had also passed a resolution regarding this.
Stating that a responsible and constitutional person should avoid using such tactics, Dr Singh said the state Congress leadership was behaving irresponsibly towards issues concerning over 2 crore Chhattisgarh people.
