DMK Women's Wing takes out massive rally

Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, June 14 (UNI) In a virtual show of women power, the DMK Women's Wing took out a massive rally as part of the first-ever statewide Women's Wing Conference here today.

DMK Patriarch and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi along with his Cabinet Colleagues watched the impressive rally from a specially erected dias.

The five km-long rally began from the famous Silver Sands Beach in this coastal district and traversed through various parts of the town before culminating at the conference venue at Manjakuppam.

Attired in red and black sarees and salwars with the photographs of Mr Karunanidhi emblazoned on them, the rallyists enthusiastically took part in the event which was flagged off by Women's Wing President Noorjehan Begum in the presence of Chief Minister's daughter and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi.

Cadres from all 31 districts of the state with the host district Cuddalore in the forefront joined the rally to the venue.

Women's Wing units from Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Mumbai also took part. All through the rally route, enthusiastic women cadres cheered the participants by hailing Mr Karunanidhi who waved at the rallyists from the dias. It almost took three hours for the rally to reach the venue.
