C'garh Govt recommended increase in MSP for paddy: Raman

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, June 14 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Chief minister Raman Singh has accused Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram of lying about minimum support price (MSP) for paddy.

''The Finance Minister is lying that he didn't recommended the Centre for raising the MSP for paddy to Rs 1,000 per quintal,'' Dr Singh said, while addressing a press conference in Ratanpur near Bilaspur, on the second day of the fourth phase of Chhattisgarh Vikas Yatra.

The Chief minister said he himself wrote a letter to the Prime Minister and the Agriculture Minister to ensure that the MSP for paddy was raised to Rs 1,000. The BJP national executive had also passed a resolution regarding this.

Stating that a responsible and constitutional person should avoid using such tactics, Dr Singh said the state Congress leadership was behaving irresponsibly towards issues concerning over two crore Chhattisgarh people.
