Arrest Narayan Rane, demands Bal Thackeray
Mumbai, Jun 14 (UNI) Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray today demanded that Maharashtra Revenue Minister Narayan Rane should be arrested on his arrival from abroad for attacking 'Saamna' Pune office by his alleged supporters.
Mr Thackeray, in an editorial of the paper, has defended publishing digitally-created image of Mr Rane as a Maharashtrian bride, saying that they carried the image with a story based on Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh's remarks comparing Mr Rane with a newly-wed woman adjusting in her ''new home''.
While comparing attack on 'Saamna' office with Shiv Sangram Sangathan (SSS) activists' attack on the house of Loksatta's editor Kumar Ketkar recently, Shiv Sena supremo said as newspersons and politicians were demanding arrest of SSS chief Vinayak Mete, Mr Rane should also be arrested as the attack was handiwork of his supporters.
If the government did not take any action against Mr Rane, then Shiv Sena would teach him a lesson, the editorial claimed.
