AP to strength Drug Control Administration
Tirupati, Jun 14 (UNI) As part of strengthening the Drug Control Administration (DCA) in the state, the Andhra Pradesh government would appoint 50 Drug Inspectors and six Assistant Directors, State Vidya Vidhana Parishad (VVP) and Hospital Services Minister Vanama Venkateswara Rao said today.
Talking to newspersons here, the minister said stringent action would be taken against those who were involved in selling medicine that crossed expiry dates. He cautioned that the licenses of such drug manufacturers would also be cancelled.
Recently, a huge haul of expired medicines worth Rs nine crore were seized from Hyderabad, he added.
The minister said the health department was planning to recruit 491 posts, including doctors, compounders and attenders, in the state.
