Adivasis in Kerala to hold indefinite strike from Jun 9

Kannur, Jun 14 (UNI) The 'Adivasi Gothra Mahasabha' in Kerala will organise an indefinite 'satyagraha' in front of the Secretariat next month in protest against the government's move to evict the adivasis from the Aralam farm.

Addressing newspersons here, Mahasabha President C K Janu said the adivasis would begin their satyagraha on July 9.

A memorandum had been submitted to Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan, urging proper rehabilitation of the adivasis in Aralam farm, she said.

The state government was continuing its ''anti-adivasi'' policies and the Mahasabha would fight against it, Ms Janu added.
