Three held for stealing jewellery

Kanpur, June 13 (UNI) Police today arrested three people and seized jewellery worth rupees several lakhs from their possession here.

The trio used to dupe jewellers by replacing real gems and jewellery by the fake ones, police said.

Farman Ali and Amin Alsi belonged to Rajasthan, while the third member was a local resident.

The police have recovered 350 grams of gold, about 3 kg of silver ornaments besides, two cars and three pistols from them.

A case of forgery was lodged against the criminals.
