One killed in car-stationary truck collision

Ahmedabad, Jun 13 (UNI) A woman was killed and three others injured when a car rammed into a stationary truck near Limdi town on the Rajkot Highway early today.

The incident occurred at around 0400 hours, when Veraval BJP youth wing president Dr Dipak Pipaliya, on his way to Vadodara with his family, rammed his Lancer car into a stationary truck, police said. Dr Pipaliya failed to spot the truck due to darkness, police added.

His wife, Sharmila(34) died on the spot, while his son Harikrishna and niece Meera received injuries. They were admitted to local hospital. Meera was later shifted to a Rajkot hospital, as she was seriously injured.

Police have registered a case of accident.
