IT exports: AP records 41 per cent increase
Hyderabad, Jun 13 (UNI) IT exports from Andhra Pradesh has gone up by a record 41 per cent from Rs 18,582 crore during 2006-07 to Rs 26,122 crore during 2007-08, contributing 15 per cent to the national IT exports during 2007-08.
After a review meeting on 'IT promotion and e-governance' here, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said IT sector in the state had shown good results even after global economic recession, particularly in United States, an official release said here today.
He said more efforts would be taken to bring the state into the number one position in IT, IT exports and ITES.
He also asked the IT department to open 2,300 Rajiv Citizen Centres (rural e-seva centres) in the state immediately.
