Farmers to get enough fertilizers: AP CM
Hyderabad, Jun 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said fertilizers of all grades would be made available to the farmers and there was no need to panic.
However, the Chief Minister cautioned all fertilizer dealers, including wholesalers, not to create artificial shortage of any grade of fertilizers and the government would take stringent action against any types of hoarding or blackmarketing, an official release said here.
After a meeting with officials and executives of major fertilizer companies here, he said a delegation, led by Agriculture Minister Raghuveera Reddy, Principal Secretary and Commissioner of Agriculture, went to Delhi and had discussions with the Centre.
The Centre had assured that fertilizer in sufficient quantity would be allotted, he added.
As many as 20 per cent more fertilizers, including DAP, MOP and Urea, have been requisitioned for this season and collectors were told to closely monitor its proper supply and stocks, he said.
The Chief Minister would also hold a video conference with collectors tomorrow to sensitise them about the proper supply of fertilizers and monitoring.
