Congress to submit memorandum to Governor for waiving off ST
Shimla, Jun 13 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) has decided to submit a memorandum to Governor V S Kokje to press for the waiving of the Sales Tax (ST) on petroleum products to provide relief to the consumers.
A delegation comprising HPCC president Viplove Thakur, Congress Legislative party (CLP) leader Vidya Stokes and former chief minister Virbhadra Singh besides Pradesh Congress committee members would submit a memorandum to the Governor on Monday, state party secretary and spokesman Kuldeep Singh Rathore said in a release here.
He said the reduction in ST would provide relief to several hundred thousand consumers of the state on the lines provided by the neighbouring states.
