Cheque bounce case: Court orders summons to Sarath
Madurai, Tamil Nadu, Jun 13 (UNI) A lower court has ordered to issue summons to actor turned politician R Sarath Kumar and his party treasurer in an alleged cheque bouncing case, here today.
Judicial Magistrate Court II Magistrate Elangovan ordered to serve summons to Sarath Kumar, the founder-President of Akhila India Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK) and Selvaraj, treasurer of the party, for the alleged bouncing of cheques, worth Rs 26 lakh, made out to an advertising agency proprietor N Balakrishnan.
In his petition, the complainant Mr Balakrishnan, who is running Grow More Advertising Agency said Sarath Kumar had asked his advertising agency to take care of advertisements in various newspapers and tv channels over the first-ever political conference of AISMK held in Madurai city on February ten, last.
He alleged that Sarath Kumar made out to him nine cheques worth Rs 26 lakh between March three and 30, last to clear the bills regarding advertisements. But, all the nine cheques were dishonoured by the bank for the want of sufficient funds in Sarath Kumar's account.
The magistrate posted the case to July 25 for further hearing.
