Washington, June 13 : French First Lady Carla Bruni has sparked protests in Colombia, after apparently mentioning the country's reported cocaine connection in a track from her latest LP. n a song from her forthcoming album Comme si de rien n'etait (As If Nothing Had Happened), set to be released in July (08), French President Nicolas Sarkozy's model and singer wife sings: "You are my drug/ More deadly than Afghan heroin/More dangerous than Colombian white."

The lyric has been now been panned by the South American country's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fernando Araujo, who insists the illegal drug link is "painful" for Colombia.

"From the mouth of the wife of the French president, this statement is very painful for Colombia. Such things come out when we mix politics with theatre," Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.

However, Araujo is not seeking an apology from Bruni, but is hoping the lyrics will unite the world against drugs.

"And instead of making an apology for consumption, we hope that the entire world will join us in the war against drugs," he said.
