BJP nominates Rama Jois for RS seat from Karnataka
New Delhi, Jun 13 (UNI) The BJP today nominated Justice (retd) M Rama Jois and educationist Prabhakar Kore to contest two Rajya Sabha seats from Karnataka Assembly.
Justice Rama Jois is a former Bihar Governor.
The BJP Central Election Committee also decided to field Karnataka Home Minister V S Acharya (Udupi) and three others for the four of the seven Legislative Council seats from the State Assembly.
Three others who have been chosen by the party for the Upper House are Mr Siddaraju (Mysore), N Shankarapa (Raichur), Bharathi Shetty (Soraba) for the fourth seat.
For Rajya Sabha byelection from Bihar, the party chose Mr Rajiv Pratap Rudy to be the candidate. The vacancy is caused by the disqualification of Mr Jai Narain Prasad Nishad.
