35 trees uprooted in last 24 hours due to heavy rains
Mumbai, Jun 13 (UNI) Thirty-five trees were uprooted due to heavy rains during the last 24 hrs in the city According to BMC officials, seven trees were uprooted in the city limits, 11 in the eastern suburbs and 17 in the western suburbs.
Meanwhile, Colaba recorded a rainfall of 11.6 mm and Santacruz 5.6 mm.
Colaba has received 608.1 mm rains in 2008 while Santacruz has received 600.8 mm. There were 3 minor cases of house collapse all over the city and no one has been injured in the same.
The trains are running as per schedule and the traffic has also been normal throughout the day in various parts of the city.
The weather bureau has forecast moderate rains accompanied by winds in some parts within the city and the suburbs.
