US biggest terrorist threat: Israel's Communist leader

Mumbai, Jun 12 (UNI) Polit Bureau member of Israel's communist party, Issm Makaul today alleged that United States President George Bush was a threat to world peace.

Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Makaul said, ''Osama is not the real villain but the US, which had failed completely in Iraq.'' Speaking about the problems between Palestine and Israel, he said the attitude of Israel was the real problem because of which no peace resolution was being passed and peace talks continued to fail.

''The talks have failed all these years due to the attitude problem and many have suffered,'' the Communist leader said.

Mr Makaul said if the problems between Israel and Palestine were to end, then according to the borders finalised in 1967, Israel should go back to its original border.

''Israel has increased its borders through force and areas like the West Bank and Gaza have been acquired, which should be given back and accept the borders of 1967, and the problems will end,'' he said.

Mr Makaul felt that the United Nations resolutions should be implemented to resolve the problems between Israel and Palestine, as the United States had completely failed in Iraq.

''There cannot be peace talks without actual peace, and the US and Israel have the same stand. Both support terrorism and are bad for democracy,'' he alleged.

''Last month, Mr Bush and US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice visited Ramallah but there were no talks about Palestine, as they do not want a free Palestine,'' observed Mr Makaul.

He said the US did not want UN to intervene in Palestine. This stand was wrong and UN resolutions should be implemented for peace.

Mr Makaul warned, ''Forty-one years have passed since Israel occupied Palestinian areas and till now, there is no peace.
