Three police constables suspended
Panna, MP, June 12 (UNI) Three constables have been suspended on the charge of looting diamonds from two diamond traders near Kotwali area in this district.
Superintendent of Police Abhay Singh said Mumbai-based diamond traders Haresh Bhai and Ranchod Bhai came here to purchase diamonds on June 3.
Both were returning to Mumbai in a bus on June 7 when the three constables -- Yogesh Pandey, Raghvendra Singh and Mahesh Tiwari -- forced them to get down and looted five diamonds worth Rs 1.20 lakh from them, besides cash worth Rs 5,000 and two mobile phones.
A complaint was lodged by the traders yesterday.
