Maharajganj constable murder case: accused Madhesian surrenders
Gorakhpur, June 12 (UNI) Shailendra Madhesia, one of the complicits with sacked Uttar Pradesh minister of state for Fisheries Jamuna Nishad in the infamous killing of a police constable at Maharajganj Kotwali police station, today surrendered before Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court here today.
The police has also moved forward an application in the Court seeking Madhesia's remand, sources said.
However, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Maharajganj, S P Upadhyaya said, ''We are yet to receive any dismissal orders of kotwali inspector Vijay Prasad Chaudhary.'' UP Chief Minister Mayawati had yesterday ordered dismissal and arrest of the Maharajganj Kotwali police station inspector and lady doctor, who made a fake report in May 26 Maharajganj rape episode.
The sacked minister was presently incarcerated in Deoria district jail, while efforts for his transfer to another prison were on as he was reportedly suffering from chest pain.
Mr Nishad would now be presented before Court on June 24.
An FIR was registered against Nishad and his 50 supporters for allegedly killing a police constable inside the Maharajganj kotwali police station on June 7.
As per the allegations, they had barged into Kotwali to press the police to lodge a rape complaint against a culprit of his area. A Nishad community girl was said to have been criminally assaulted on May 26.
