Controversial godman gets bail
Kochi, Jun 12 (UNI) Controversial Godman Himaval Bhadrananda Swami, who opened fire in a police station near here last month injuring himself and a police official, was today granted bail by the Principal Sessions Court, Ernakulam.
He was charged with attempt to murder and attempt to commit suicide when he fired two shots from his pistol in the Aluva Circle Inspector's Office.
Prinicipal Sessions Judge D Pappachan granted conditional bail to Himaval Swami on his furnishing a bail bond of Rs one lakh and two solvent sureties of the same amount.
He was also directed to appear before the investigating officer, as and when required. He was also told not to leave Ernakulam district. Himaval Swami was in judicial custody.
