Charlize Theron slams 'sad' attention-seeking celebs

Washington, Jun 12 : Actress Charlize Theron has slammed attention-seeking celebrities, branding them "sad."

In an interview with British GQ, the actress said that the way these celebs act is very pathetic, especially when they rely on the media to further their careers. "It comes across as this really sad need for approval," People quoted the Oscar winner, as telling the mag.

"I've heard people make comments like, 'You don't really want to be in the tabloids but you need to be for your career.' They believe it's actually important. It's not. It's ugly," she added.

The 32-year-old Monster star argues against the idea that it is part of her job to provide gossip for the celebrity publications.

"Like, your life belongs to us now?" she asked.

"That's the deal? I didn't get that memo. It wasn't sent to me and I didn't sign it.

"People say, 'That's your job.' It really isn't, actually. It's not my job to go out there and make an ass out of myself," she added.
