Melbourne, June 11 : A man who once weighed a half ton but has slimmed down to about 700 pounds, is leaving no stone unturned to reduce enough to stand on his own two feet to get married to the woman he loves.

Currently weighing 320kg, Manuel Uribe, who lives in northern Mexico, once read 560kg on the weighing scale.

On his 43rd birthday today, Manuel, who has his name in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the World's Fattest Man, said that he just wants to be able to stand up on his wedding day.

On his bed since the last 6 years, Uribe revealed that it was his steady dieting that made him shed almost 250kg. In fact, he is now waiting to hear again from bosses at Guinness, if he is worthy of a second title - the world's greatest loser of weight.

However, he regrets that he is unable to walk his fiancee, Claudia Solis, down the aisle. Bust still he is trying his best to accomplish his desire.

"It frustrates me a little, because it is not easy to get out. We are in love, and this year my birthday wish is to be able to stand when we get married," News.com.au quoted him, as saying.

It's been four years since the couple met four years ago and now they have been together for the last two years.

"We are a couple. We have sex, and in the eyes of God we are already married," said Uribe.

In fact, his ladylove, Solis said that life with a big man was not a cakewalk all through.

"I bathe him every day, and we get along very well. At times, yes, people say things ... that it's a fake relationship, but what we have is real," she said.
