Lucknow, Jun 11 (UNI) After sacking minister of state for fisheries Jamuna Nishad, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today ordered suspension and arrest of the woman doctor, who made a fake report in the May 26 Maharajganj rape episode.

Besides, the CM passed arrest and suspension orders for Maharajganj kotwali police station in charge.

Addressing a meet on law and order situation in the state with Inspector General of Police (IG), Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ms Mayawati said ''the June 7, Maharajganj kotwali police station incident would have been averted, had the rape victim provided justice.'' It was only the second medical examination report that proved that the Nishad girl was criminally assualted, while the earlier report showed it negative, the CM noted.

''Therefore, the lady doctor, who committed the crime of submitting fake report, would not be spared,'' she added.

An FIR was registered against the minister of state for fisheries Jamuna Nishad and his 50 supporters for allegedly killing a police constable inside the Maharajganj kotwali police station on June 7.

As per the allegations, they had barged into Kotwali to put pressure on the police to lodge a rape complaint against a culprit of his area. A Nishad community girl was said to have been criminally assaulted on May 26 and an FIR in this connection was registered by the victim family on June 5.

However, during the medical examination of the girl it was found that the rape charges were negative and the victim's statement under section 161 of the CrPC also did not confirm the allegation.

But the fresh medical examination that was conducted on the orders of the CM on June 8, had proved the rape, while the girl's statement under section 164 of the CrPC before the magistrate had also confirmed the rape.

After the media hype over the incident, Ms Mayawati had immediately asked for resignation of the minister, which was subsequently accepted. The CM had also ordered magistrative probe into the entire incident.
