Hyderabad, Jun 11 (UNI) The TRS President K Chandrasekhara Rao today declared the scrapping of party's 50 plus state and district executives, following the party's poor performance in the May 29 bypolls in which the party had won only seven MLA seats and two MP seats.

Addressing the press, after the state executive meet, Mr Rao said that new state, district executives and party Presidents and a politburo would be constituted within 15 days. The mandal and village level party leaders also would be changed shortly, he added.

Stating that the party would launch 'militant' struggles against the Government and organise 'non-cooperation' movements for the cause of Telangana people and for the farmers in future, he said the candidates for the next Assembly election would be selected after conducting a survey.

TRS would fight 2009 general elections independently, Mr Rao said claiming that the party would grow as a strong political power by next election.

Meetings with the Telangana intellectuals and writers would be conducted regularly to seek their opinion on the party's strategies.

Students also would be inducted to strengthen the TRS and its Telangana movement.

Stating that the TRS would maintain 'secular' ideology, Mr Rao said the backward classes would be given priority in the party posts and also in election.
