Thermal Plant employee murdered
Rupnagar, June 11 (UNI) An employee of Guru Gobind Singh Super Thermal Plant, Rupnagar was found murdered at village Bahadurpur near Rupnagar toady.
According to information the Ram Tirath, working as a technician in Coal Handling Plant of the thermal plant, having injury marks on his head, was found lying near the cremation ground of village Bahadurpur. The body was noticed by the villagers, who informed the police in this regard.
Ram Tirath, who was residing in type-2 quarters of Nuhon colony of the thermal plant, was missing since yesterday after he went away with a 'bank agent' Pintu residing in the same colony.
According to Ram Tirath's wife Shakuntala, his husband had received an amount of Rs two lakhs as compensation in 1997 for the damage caused to his arm in a mishap at the plant.
She said Pintu, posing himself to be a bank agent, took the amount from him for making a Fixed Deposit Certificate with a bank.She said that since her husband was demanding money from him for the last two three months as the maturity time of FD had passed.
She yesterday Pintu took his husband away on the pretext of getting the payment made of the FD.When her husband did not return last night, she called Pintu to her house to enquire about her husband.
However, Pintu told her that Ram Tirath had boarded the bus from Rupnagar bus stand to Ghanuali after which he (Pintu) had gone to Rupnagar town adding that he did not know the whereabouts of Ram Tirath.
She expressed the apprehension that her husband might have been killed by some persons for money.
Meanwhile, Rupnagar Sadar Police have registered a case under section 302 of IPC and started the investigation in the matter.The police have reportedly picked up Pintu for questioning.
