Second attempt of rob at State Bank of Patiala

Barnala, Jun 11: Burglars struck at the Trident complex branch of the State Bank of Patiala and managed to break the main lock of the bank situated at village Dhaula on Barnala-Sirsa main road, police said.

However, the robbers could not proceed any further and apparently panicked and fled empty-handed on hearing the security guard approach, police sources said yesterday.

About three-months-ago, an attempt was made to rob the same bank and the thieves had then managed to break into the bank but then also they had fled without taking anything.

SHO of Tapa, who was investigating the case, did not rule out a link between the two incidents and said all angles would be taken into consideration to nab the criminals.
