Prof CNR Rao Education Foundation awards announced

Bangalore, June 11 (UNI) Mr Upkar Dutt Sharma, Assistant Teacher, CAB Inter College, Meerut, and Mr Linganand K Gavimath, Assistant Teacher, Government PU College, Hunnur, Karnataka, have bagged the 'Outstanding Science Teacher Award', instituted by Prof C N R Rao Education Foundation, for 2007.

According to a release here today, the award would be presented at a function on July one.

The Foundation extended financial support to students pursuing science as a career and honoured science teachers for their invaluable service towards science education.

The Award was instituted in 2005 by renowned scientist Prof C N R Rao. The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, was administering the activities of the Foundation.
