Bangalore, June 11 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tonight assured Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa of of adequate supply of Fertiliser to the State.
An assurance to this effect was given by the Prime Minister when Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa called on him in New Delhi this evening after visiting strife-torn Haveri town where a farmer was killed in Police Firing yesterday.
A communication from CMs office said the Prime Minister also assured that he would instruct Union Fertiliser minister Ramvilas Paswan to ensure adequate supply of Fertiliser to Karnataka.
Earlier, in a memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister, Mr Yeddyurappa stated, "The situation in the State had become very serious due to short supply of chemical fertilisers that had lead to incidents of violence with anti social elements creating trouble in some districts on the pretext of non-availability of fertilisers."
