P K Bansal surrenders official car

New Delhi, Jun 11 (UNI) Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal, Minister of State for Finance, has surrendered his official car provided after he was given the additional charge of the MoS for Parliamentary Affairs.

Mr Bansal has done this in response to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's appeal to his Ministerial colleagues and their officials for austerity in the light of the mounting oil prices in the international market.

The Finance Ministry said in a press note that Mr Bansal had also not availed of his entitlement for a ministerial bungalow and continued to live in his old residence, allotted to him in his capacity as a Member of Parliament.
