National Integration Camps to be conducted by Bharathidasan varsity
Tiruchirapalli, June 11 (UNI) The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Development has authorised the Bharathidasan University here to conduct three National Integration Camps in the varsity jurisdiction under the youth development programme this year.
In a chat with newspersons here today, varsity NSS Coordinator K Kanagaraju said the main objective of the camps would be to promote national integration and unity among the students, apart from personality development, creating health awareness and time management.
He said 100 to 150 NSS volunteers from different universities in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal were expected to participate in the camps.
Mr Kanagaraju said the first camp would be held here from June 26 to July two and in connection with the camp, State Transport Minister K N Nehru would inaugurate a students rally in the city on June 29.
The second camp would be held at Perambalur from July seven to 13, while the third one would be held at Thanjavur from July 25 to 31, he said, adding that there would be cultural porogrammes during the camps under the cultural exchange programme.
