Monsoons to be normal this year
Bhubaneswar, June 11 (UNI) Director General of Meteorology Air Vice-Marshal Ajit Tyagi today forecast normal monsoons in the country.
''This year the monsoons have arrived early and there will be good rainfall all over the country,'' Dr Tyagi said.
He said surveys indicated good rainfall this year, adding that there would not be much variation in the forecast and actual rainfall.
Replying to a question, Dr Tyagi said it was very difficult to say that the rise in day temperature and frequent cyclonic storm was due to the impact of global warming, adding that much more research was required.
He said global warming was a fact but its impact on the weather was not very precise and added that there was no cause for alarm.
