Meghalaya to host IT summit

Shillong, Jun 11 (UNI) The Information Technology Department in Meghalaya is organising a two-day IT summit titled 'The 2008 MEGhABY-TES' from June 12.

The two-day Summit will deliberate on issues concerning IT and Information and Communication Technology(ICT) based on the presentations made by various companies from the private sector and the central government.

The summit will also make an attempt to draw the blueprint to ensure that the gap between the IT ''haves'' and ''have-nots'' is reduced and the North East is not left behind in the digital rat race.

Senior government officials from all northeastern states besides, major ICT players and companies like CISCO, Intel, NIIT, SAP and HCL will attend the summit.
