Four oil tankers of goods train derail

Tiruchirapalli, Jun 11 (UNI) Train services on the Tiruchirapalli-Manapparai broadguage section was slightly affected following the derailment of four oil tankers of a goods train between Samudhiram and Manapparai stations near here today.

Railway sources said the goods train was on its way to Madurai from here.

The four tankers, after jumping off the railway track overturned, the sources said, adding the oil from the tankers spilled the area.

Work was on to remove the derailed tankers.

Though the movement of rail traffic was not affected in the section, the running of up and down Chennai-Guruvayoor-Chennai expresses and Madurai-Mayilduthurai passenger train might be affected, the sources added.
