Fishing boat capsizes
Kozhikode, Jun 11 (UNI) A fishing boat returning to the port city of Kochi in Kerala after fishing off Mumbai coast capsized off Aanangadi coast near Kadalundi in the neighbouring district of Malappuram, early today.
However, its crew, including nine fishermen, were rescued by the Fisheries Department personnel on getting an SOS and shifted to another boat sailing nearby, police said.
They were identified as Jerry, Johnson, Suresh, natives of Kanniyakumari in Tamil Nadu, and Sebastian, Jose, Sunil, Shaju, Shajan and Deva Das of Thiruvananthapuram, they said.
The boat 'St. George' was proceeding to Beypore enroute to Kochi for repair when the mishap occurred due to leakage, they added.
