Eleven Pakistani soldiers killed in missile strike
Islamabad, Jun 11 (UNI) At least 11 Pakistani paramilitary soldiers were killed in a missile strike from Afghanistan on a border post.
The missile attack followed intense fighting between Pakistani and Afghan troops on an area in Mohmand tribal region, which the latter claimed belonged to them.
Geo TV put the death toll at 13, claiming that a paramilitary major was also killed in the attack.
''Bodies of 13 security officials killed during Afghan forces' attack have been recovered whereas 40 officials are reported missing,'' the channel quoted official sources as saying.
Afghan forces also attacked Chopara checkpost with automatic and heavy weapons near Afghan border in Mohmand region, which was retaliated by Pakistani troops.
Eyewitnesses said two jets of coalition forces violated Pakistani air space. However, no loss of life was reported in the incident.
This was the second missile attack in less than a month. At least 14 people were killed in an attack in early May on Damadola village in Bajaur tribal region.
