Elder sister murders younger over land

Shillong, Jun 11 (UNI) A 30-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her elder sister after a heated argument over a plot of land at Jaintia Hills, police said today.

Fifty-year-old Kloit Shyrmang killed her sister Philda Shyrmang alias Bek of Mynthning village yesterday with a dagger for a plot of land at Jalaphet village in Jaintia Hills, police said.

The sisters, both from Mynthning village, met at Jalaphet village ''accidentally'' where they exchanged heated words over a plot of land leading to the murder of Philda, police added.

Police have registered a case of murder against Kloit, who was absconding.

Earlier, one Lan Shyrmang of the same family was also murdered by his younger brother Healding Shyrmang at Mynthning village over a land dispute.
