Cannabis over 60 kanals destroyed in south Kashmir
Srinagar Jun 11 (UNI) In its continued drive against cultivation of banned crops, the Jammu and Kashmir Police destroyed cannabis spread over 60 kanals of land in south Kashmir.
Official sources said today a tip-off was received that some farmers were cultivating 'bhang' and other banned crops in south Kashmir district of Pulwama.
He said a special police team raided villages and destroyed 'bhang' over 60 kanals in village Mailhora.
A case has been registered against the owners of the land, they said adding the drive will continue in the district.
Cannabis and poppy crops over thousands kanals of land had been destroyed by the police and district administration in Anantnag and Pulwama district during the past four months.
