Brief showers bring respite to Chennaiites

Chennai, Jun 11 (UNI) Brief showers this evening brought cheers and respite to the people of Chennai city and suburbs, who were reeling under oppressive heat conditions for the last few days.

Though it was very hot and humid in the morning, the skies turned overcast in the afternoon and the brief sharp showers provided the much needed relief.

When contacted by UNI, weather office sources attributed the sudden downpour to local phenomenon.

The weather office forecast isolated showers or thundershowers in the city and suburbs for the next 24 hours.
