Bhatkal and Gerusoppa receive 19 and 14 cm rain respectively

Bangalore, Jun 11 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Bhatkal and Gerusoppa recorded very heavy rainfall of 19 and 14 cm respectively.

Heavy amounts of rainfall (cm): Karwar 10; Shirali, Honavar, Agumbe, Linganamakki, Kammardi 9 each; Kollur, Siddapura, Bhagamandala, Mudigere 8 each.

Other chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Kota, Karkala, Talaguppa, Kalasa 6 each; Dharmasthala, Khanapur, Sringeri, Jayapura 5 each; Belthangadi, Udupi, Yellapura, Hosanagar, Humchadakatte, Kottigehara 4 each.

Forecast valid until Friday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Fishries Warning: Strong onshore winds mainly from westerly to southwesterly direction speed occasionally reaching 45 to 55 kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during the next 24 hours.
