Bangladeshis held for possessing fake passport

Kochi, June 11 (UNI) Two Bangladeshi nationals were today handed over to the Chengamanad Police by the Emigration personnel at the Cochin International Airport for allegedly overstaying in India and for possessing fake passports.

Official sources said the arrested M D Farhadul Islam (25) from Noyatalamog in Dhaka in Bangladesh was nabbed when he tried to leave the country by a Qatar Airways flight. His visa expired on May 29.

Farhadul reportedly came to Kolkata to work with his uncle on May 18. He went to Chennai to see his sick relative on June 9 and reached here to board the flight. He was possessing an Indian visa.

The other person Md Jahangir (30) of Dhaka was deported from Doha when the Emigration personnel in Doha Airport found that his passport was forged.

Jahangir had confessed that he paid four lakh Taka (Bangladesh currency) to one Hassan to get the passport. He was using the passport of one Mohemed Liton of Berlin, sources added.
