Two militants killed in north Kashmir

Srinagar Jun 10 (UNI) Two militants were killed and three soldiers injured in a fierce encounter in north Kashmir last night, official sources said today.

They said 8 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry conducted a search operation near Hanuman Post in the frontier district of Kupwara following a tip-off about the presence of the militants.

During the operation an encounter ensued in which two militants were killed. Three soldiers were injured in the encounter, they added.

A large cache of arms and ammunition, including two AK rifles, seven AK magazines, 200 AK rounds, one battery, five cordex with detonators, four UBGL grenades, one hand grenade, three rucksack bags, two pouches and two wrist watches, was recovered from the slain militants.
