Take all necessary steps to upgrade tourism infrastructure in J
Srinagar, Jun 10 (UNI) Maintaining that tourism is the mainstay of the state's economy, the assurance committee of Jammu and Kashmir legislative Assembly directed the authorities to take all necessary steps to upgrade the tourism infrastructure so that more and more tourists visit the state.
The committee met here today to review the status of various Government assurances given by the Ministry of Tourism and Floriculture on the floor of the house from time to time.
The meeting of the committee was held here under the chairmanship of Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami of Communist Party of India (M).
The Committee also directed for proper beautification of all tourist resorts and city parks.
The Committee was informed that all assurances pertaining to tourism department have been implemented in letter and spirit.
It was also told about the various measures initiated to boost the tourism besides giving details of various ongoing projects in the State.
Later, the Committee expressed satisfaction on the progress achieved by the department and dropped the assurances.
