Star denies using Arushi murder case for 'Kahani Ghar...'
Mumbai, Jun 10 (UNI) Star India tonight refuted media reports about using the Arushi murder case for the storyline of 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki'.
The Star spokesperson, in a release here, said these allegations were ''completely false'' and ''totally mischievous''.
''Any suggestions to our serial drawing on this case are highly offensive and repugnant,'' he said.
Star Plus is a family channel committed to upholding Indian family values. The channel is an integral part of the Indian home, and continues to cherish and uphold the love and support of its viewers he added.
''We will like to reiterate that there has been no attempt to cash in on the bereavement of the families and any such attempt by anyone is highly repulsive,'' the spokesperson said.
It may be recalled that sources from Balaji Telefilms, producers of the show, had accepted that a track 'inspired' by Arushi murder case was being added.
After the appearance of the story in a section of media, Arushi's mother Nupur Talwar complained to National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) to stop the production house to use her daughter's murder for raising TRPs. Following which, NCPCR directed Information and Broadcasting Ministry to take necessary steps.
Arushi and her servant Hemraj were found murdered on May 16 and her father Rajesh Talwar has been arrested in this connection.
