Spice Communication to come out with Braille keyboard
Bangalore, Jun 10 (UNI) Spice Communication, the premium and innovative service provider, will soon come out with braille keys on its mobile phones to help the blind to operate easily, Company CEO Navin Kaul said today.
Talking to newspersons after launching of 'People Phone,' a mobile phone with Spice lifetime prepaid connection at Rs 599 here, he said ''the company R&D wing, working on the keyboard will be released in the market within the next three months.'' 'People Phone' was the first-of-its-kind offer in GSM space, he claimed and said the sleek S-300 was specially designed for the emerging markets.
Detailing the salient features of the 'People Phone' he said the instrument has audio interface system in Kannada language, it offers three hours talk time and a 15-day battery backup, a speaker phone, can save 9 speed dials for easy calling, hot key for VAS services to get useful information in Kannada on Mandi (market) rates for vegetables, pulses, beverages, cereals, dry fruits, flowers, fruits, oilseeds and entertainment services like mobile radio, jokes and devotional songs.
The set weighs 75 grams. Subscribers can make outgoing calls to any local number by one rupee with Lifeime validity.
Company Chief Operating Officer Rakesh Singh said there are 4.5 crore population in Karnataka, which are not covered with mobile ''our aim is to capture this potentiall market.'' The 'People Phone' would be launched in other parts of the country soon. In each city, the set will have local language so that it becomes people-friendly, he said.
