Showcause notice to India News TV channel for MMS on Aarushi

New Delhi, Jun 10 (UNI) The Ministry of Information&Broadcasting (I&B) issued a showcause notice to ''India News'' a TV channel for airing a vulgar MMS on Arushi Talwar, the 14 year-old girl who was recently found murdered in her Noida house, and whose father has been arrested on charges of kiling her.

''The airing of the MMS by the TV news channel was against all ethical norms, and broadcasting code. It was ''obscene and denigrating of children and against good taste and decency'', requiring action against the channel airing it, an official of the Ministry told UNI today.

The Ministry of Women&Child Development has in a letter to the I&B Ministry raised objection against the footages in the Channel tarnishing the image of a minor, who is no more.

The WCD Ministry was approached by Aarushi's mother Nupur Talwar seeking the intervention of the government against a production house which she said was planning to make a TV serial on Aarushi.
