Bangalore, June 10 (UNI) Qualifier Eshen Naqvi of Maharashtra gave packing orders to seventh seed Neeraj Rehman of Kerala in a shocking straight sets win at 21-19, 21-8 even as other seeded players had smooth sailing into the second round in Boys U-19 VII All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament here today.
Top seed B Sumeeth Reddy of Andhra Pradesh trounced Nirmit Mittal of Uttarkhand 21-9, 21-8, while second seed Mayank Gole of Maharashtra struggled to go past Ankit Patel of Uttar Pradesh 21-16, 21-18.
Third seed Ravi Singla of Haryana got a walk over as Anirudh Shenoy of Karnataka did not turn up.
In the other matches fourth seed Prakash Jolly of Karnataka defeated Anand Tiwari of Punjab 21-14, 21-17, sixth seed K Nandagopal of Andhra Pradesh beat Sarang Lakhani of Maharashtra 21-16, 22-20 and eighth seed Pratik Khurana of Karnataka went past Vikalp Tiwari of Uttar Pradesh 21-18, 20-22, 21-10.
