RCP demands cancellation of MP, MLA funds
Lucknow, Jun 10 (UNI) The Rashtriya Congress Party (RCP) has demanded the Central and State governments to abolish MP and MLA funds over its exploitation by the criminals and anti-social elements.
UP RCP president Ramesh Dixit today told mediapersons they had demanded the governments to stop pooling money in MP and MLA funds, as it was being used by the MPs and MLAs, who had criminal background or indulged in anti-social activity.
The funds, which were initiated for development purposes in the country had now taken a coarse against its objective and was feeding criminals garbed as peoples representatives, he added.
Expressing concern over the sky-rocketing prices of essential commodities, Mr Dixit said governemnt should provide food grains to the economically backward and poor people under Public Distribution System (PDS).
Referring the Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo's allegation on Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) of having leaders with criminals background and Chief Minister Mayawati's counter statement over it, the RCP president said both the parties have initiated competition of attacking each other by counting number of criminals or goons the opposition had.
Mr Dixit, however, criticised the practice of bringing criminals in to politics.
