Police personnel get training to tackle emergency situations
Mumbai, Jun 10 (UNI) Around 2,000 policemen have undergone special training to tackle emergency situations during the monsoons and pass on information to the Disaster Management Control Room.
Speaking to mediapersons here, the Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) K L Prasad said ''we have selected a few police personnel from each police station and given them training on how to tackle the emergency like situation and also to pass on the information to different agencies like the fire brigade whenever they need assistance.'' He said ''we have already had dialogues with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) schools and hall owners to meet emergerncy like situation, if any, like July 26, 2005, arises.
